I spent my whole childhood in Sète, and I moved back there about ten years ago. I wanted to work on my hometown, confronting my sometimes confused memories with the present time.
I worked on the emblematic places of the city (the port, the Quartier Haut, the canals, the Thau lagoon…) sometimes with great freedom of representation. This allowed me to convey these different, superimposed levels of interpretation and sensation. The use of sometimes strong and offbeat colours, and of markers, also allowed me to express these shifts.
