Memories of Agde — Sculptures in the city
Agde, rue Jean Roger — 2026
For the sculpture trail of the town of Agde: eight posts in rue Jean Roger, imprints of the historic buildings cast in concrete.

Installation in the public space
Agde, rue Jean Roger: 8 posts made of chimney flue blocks, topped with concrete with black pigments, 7 different casts.
Materials: basalt, volcanic tuff, amphora, driftwood, ropes, vine shoots, lace.

For the sculpture trail of the town of Agde, the artist wanted to create a work of memory, handling concrete in a calmer way and making clever use of prefabricated industrial elements, to stage, in the very heart of the town, imprints of the historic buildings gathered here and there across the Agde area. By pairing each cast with fragments of text that feed her purpose and widen it to a more collective memory, Valérie Billet creates a genuine interaction between contemporary art, the buried past of the town and its inhabitants.
